April summary/May Goals

Well amazingly another Month has flown by so bloody quick! I hate the feeling of evaluating what I have done in the last Month and realizing it wasn't that much, I feel like I have wasted time seeing as it has gone so quick! They say once you past the age of 21 the rest of your life goes by like lightning and I think that stands true! Time really does fly! Well April wasn't so much of a waste of time in my eyes. I feel like I have achieved quite a lot that will help me make May an even better month.  I have learnt an awful lot where fitness/weights is concerned (Thanks to Ryan and the endless time I have been spending in the gym). I seem to have learnt a lot about different muscle groups and how to perform different exercises. I have spent days in the gym forcing myself to perform exercises I don't like or would rather not be doing as I know this will benefit me in the long run - RUNNING for example. I think it is a big step for a lazy person like me to get out of m

Revamp Monday

So, I was feeling very guilty this morning when I woke up, still full as I had eaten so much on the weekend and was really lazy (only exercise I did was a 2 hour bike ride on sat). I really had that Monday feeling and I never have the Monday feeling! I struggled all day feeling lethargic and bummed out - could hardly open my eyes in the morning, even though I had had a good 8 hours sleep. That Monday feeling So I made sure I kept my diet clean - lots of fruit and plenty of water! As soon as I got home, I headed to the gym. I didn't have a lot of time there and knew there was a possibility I could go back again later in the evening so I started off trying to run. Shin splints are still really sore but I managed a 1500m in 7.43 mins, beating my last time. Its all I could manage with my shins today but I plan on doing a 5 k tomorrow in the fields (softer ground). I then did;  Lots of stretching Barbell incline bench press 3 x 10 (20kg) Bicep curl 3 x 10 (10kg db) Upright

Fitness Motivation

I am so in love with the progress and physique of fitness model Jen Jewell  aka fitnessjewell! Article on bodybuilding.com She does a lot of the modelling for bodybuilding.com  and has done fitness competitions. Although her stats are NOTHING like mine and I could never look as good as her, she really motivates me to try hard and is living proof of what lifting weights does for a girl. Yeah OK, I know a lot of woman are frightened to lift weights for exactly that reason - they don't want to get big with muscles and look like the pic above, however that is what she looks like after intensive training, dieting, fake tan and pumped up for stage. Her body naturally is exactly what every girl wants and if they don't, they should!! What makes her interesting to me is that she hasn't always looked this way - it has actually taken 10 years, according to her bio for her to look like this. Admittedly a few years ago I probably wouldn't have liked her

Point to Point

This weekend was very welcomed as I had had a pretty slow week in work! On Friday Ryan and I decided to stay in and chill out. I bought some nice burgers and pudding from Marks and Spencer (with my voucher from employee of the month) and we had a night in. Unfortunately that triggered a full weekend of binging on unhealthy sugary foods! Our Mountain bikes are still out of order, which sucks as I had planned on going on the bike somewhere with  rachelinwales  unfortunately we had to rearrange our mtb date for another time. Instead Ryan and I took the road bike out for a little bimble in the local area. I actually really enjoyed it. We did hit a few rain showers on the way but at some points the sun was really shining bright! boardman hybrid bike It was a fairly flat ride and some hilly country lanes but I find the Boardman is a very quick bike and assists hugely with the effort of dreaded hills! We stopped at the Maenllwyd pub for 10 minutes to bask in the sunshine before cont

Skin Care

Random subject to blog about I know, but when I went to the lunch in Bath with the girls the subject came up and left me feeling really. Mainly because it hasn't been something I have ever put care or effort into or thought about much even. I have on occasion used a face mask out of those cheap 99p packs you can pick up from Superdrug. As far as my daily skin care goes - good old water and Simple/Olay moisturizer has been all I use. Normally just wash my face with water My friends seemed surprised by this, they have all been 'cleansing, toning and moisturising' since the age of 13 or so. Not me..22 and still doing it the lazy way! My skin is clear and I have never really had problems with blemishes or anything but after speaking to the girls I feel like maybe I'm neglecting my skin especially now I am getting old! Cute wrinkly face dog So with the advice of Tori I decided to start a facial cleansing routine. She advised me on certain products and what she knows

Lunch with the German Ambassador

Today I was invited to a lunch at the Hilton in Cardiff. Afonwen  Laundry (company I work for) was sponsoring the Business meeting. The Ambassador of Germany - Georg Boomgaarden was the special guest. The reason we were sponsoring it I believe is because a German company Kannegiesser  supply the laundries washing machines and tumble dryers. Embarrassingly - They had a massive billboard up with my picture on it as before I started working for Afonwen I did some modeling for their website.  This pic was on a huge billboard It turned out to be a bigger event than I expected, the Welsh secretary of state was there too. It took me ages to decide what to wear - I'm not good at dressing up too smart! I had two dresses to chose from, a comfortable, more casual one or an awkward, walk like my legs are stuck together dress which looked smarter. Went for this dress - the uncomfortable smart dress (excuse messy room)  Anyway onto the more important part - the food :) Unfortunat

Ladies day in Bath, Taff trail ride to Cardiff Bay, Back day

On Friday 19th it was a good friend of mine, Tori's 22nd birthday. For Tori's 21st 5 of us went to Paris, her mom, her moms friend Sue, Bec, Tori and myself. So as an anniversary to that we all spent the day in Bath for shopping and Lunch. Eiffel Tower last year We had an amazing time in Paris, so many laughs and I saw so much, would never have been able to go there if it wasn't for Tori's mom Liz. We went to the Lido, took a tour bus around Paris and I had the BEST Meal I've ever eaten in a retaurant called the 'Music Hall' Its a club really but you sit down and eat, the most beautiful waiters/waitresses serve you and the food was incredible - especially the white chocolate mouse pudding!! The 5 of us at the Lido Anyway, so we went to Bath on the train on Friday. As classy as it gets with mini bottles of Champagne to hand - I didn't drink as I was driving to Ryan's that evening so I stuck to good old water. Bec and Sandra (liz'z
